History and Conservation
Unknown date: The stone was extracted from a quarry near Ramsbottom and worked for the Department for Communities and Local Government who supplied it to the borough council.
13th May 2018: The memorial was unveiled at a ceremony attended by members of the Gregg family, representatives of the town council; the military; the local history society and church ministers.
16th September, 2020: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition.
