Location details:
The garden is on the south side of King St, bordered by Strutt St and Cheapside. The plot was formerly known as The Paddock prior to being laid out.

Description:

A public garden laid out to lawns and flower beds with trees, a flagpole, benches and a shelter and with metal gates on stone pillars with a metal arch over, bearing the inscription.

History and Conservation
c1923: The Paddock was donated by Alderman G H Strutt.

1975-1992: The garden lies within the Belper and Milford Conservation area designated and extended during that period.

December 2001: The garden lies within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site inscribed on that month.

7th February, 2013: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition and well cared for.
