Overall type: Addition to gravestone.


Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.


Description:

An addition to a stone on a family grave. The white marble gravestone comprises an obelisk on a pedestal, plinths and base. The obelisk bears a fouled anchor on the 6 o'clock face and surmounts a pedimented pedestal which bears inscriptions inlaid in upright, mainly capital, lettering. The pedestal surmounts two plinths, the upper one with a moulded top, the lower one with a bevelled top. The whole is on a thin stone base and is accompanied by oblong kerbs.

8th January, 2018: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition but a few letters were missing from the inscription.
