Description:

A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often incorporating pebbles, beads etc. The single-panel oblong dressing had a depiction of an infantryman with a rifle standing near to a battlefield grave marker silhouetted against a setting sun and with the inscription in red upright capital block lettering. To each side the names were listed on two white columns in black upright capital lettering. The frame was further decorated with knitted or crotcheted red poppies.

History and Conservation
Autumn 2018: The dressing was designed and constructed by members of the local community.

11th November, 2018: The well dressing was displayed before being dismantled and the components salvaged for future use.
