Description:

A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised an upright oblong frame and a separate subsidiary lateral frame. The main frame had a green margin to each side bearing red poppies and between these were friezes to the top and bottom bearing the inscription in red upright capital letters on a white ground, and a central panel in mottled greens with scattered red poppies, a further inscription in red capital lettering and a depiction of an unidentified service medal. The subsidiary frame contained a further inscription in red upright capital lettering on a pale green ground.

History and Conservation
Spring and Summer 1995: The memorial was designed and made by members of the local community.

Summer, 1995: The memorial was photographed by Glyn Williams. After the period of the display the dressing was dismantled and components salvaged for future use.
