Description:
A traditional temporary well dressing tableau made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame. The dressing comprised an upright oblong panel with a rounded top and a square central panel. The design depicted a green field in the foreground with red poppies and the sun's rays radiating from the top left in pinks, yellows and blues. The central panel, highlighted by its white frame, contained a silhouette of an infantryman standing by a battlefield grave. The inscription was in black sentence case lettering aligned along the sun's rays with the date in a white panel at the foot.
The well dressing was displayed from 26th May to 1st June 2018 and was subsequently dismantled.
