Description:
A traditional temporary well dressing tableau made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame.
The dressing comprised a central recessed oblong panel depicting a Girl Guide in blue uniform surrounded by a border listing typical work tasks. Two side panels bore cartouches of red and green sprays of poppies on a yellow ground, the top panel contained the main heading in blue capital block lettering on a grey ground with Girl Guide badges in the corners, and the bottom panel contained the group's title with dates to each side. A pediment, frieze and pair of finials bore the heading in red upright capital lettering, with dates and the Girl Guide motto in various colours. The well dressing was displayed from 30th June to 9th July 2018 and was subsequently dismantled.
