Location details:
The village hall is on the north side of School La at the eastern end of the village. The memorial was in the grounds, leaning against the southern boundary wall next to the road.

Description:

A temporary Derbyshire well dressing display traditionally made from flowers and other vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame but now often utilising stones, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised an upright oblong frame with pointed arch top and depicted a silhouette of a WW1 infantryman in service dress standing with reversed arms at a battlefield grave. The background sky was in blues, pinks and yellows with superimposed red poppies, and the foreground was brown and green with the inscription superimposed in brown upright capital roman lettering.

History and Conservation
Spring - Summer 2019: The dressing was designed and assembled by members of the local community.

22nd June, 2019: The dressing was dedicated by members of the local clergy and photographed by Glyn Williams.

1st July, 2019: The dressing was dismantled and the components salvaged for future use.
