Erected in grateful memory of the 28 brave men of this church and Sunday school who gave their lives in the great war, 1914-1919. History and Conservation
6th March, 1920: It was reported that the tablet, with the above inscription, was to be placed in the church.

c1968: The church is reported to have closed.

1986: The Matlock Bank Conservation Area was first designated. The building lies within it.

c2014: The church was sold for conversion to residential accomodation.

20th February, 2016: The church had been gutted prior to conversion to apartments.

2019: Discussions amongst former members of the church revealed uncertainty over the whereabouts of the memorial or whether it had ever been installed.

The (Derbyshire) Courier; 6th March, 1920; p2 col5: an extensive report of the unveiling ceremony for the memorial windows but including a description of the tablet which was "to be placed on the wall".
