The church is on the south side of Oak Rd at the junction with Bank Rd. The plaque is inside, in the Worship Centre.

Location details:
The church building is on the northern side of Imperial Road but is now a community centre. The location of the memorial is not known.
Type
Overall type: Sound system Overall condition: Fair, but main component is now lost. The inscription is legible and the plaque is cared for.


Description:

A sound system accompanied by a small plaque. Details of the sound system are not known but the oblong plaque has a narrow red border, a red latin cross and an incised inscription in white upright capital block lettering.

History and Conservation
Unknown date c1950: The sound system was installed in Matlock United Methodist Church.

c1966: The United Methodist church closed and the memorial plaque was salvaged.

Unknown date: The plaque was installed in the Trinity Methodist Church.

August 1986: The Matlock Bank Conservation Area was first designated. The Matlock Methodist and United Reformed Church lies within it.

1990: Trinity Methodist Church combined with the United Methodist Church and was renamed the Matlock Methodist and United Reformed Church.

9th February, 2020: The plaque was surveyed by Roy Branson. It was in fair condition and cared for.
