Thanks to Michael Haynes who facilitated access to the church and assisted with the recording of the memorial.

During the Second World War Rockside Hydro on Cavendish Road was used as an RAF psychiatric hospital called RAF Neurological Hospital - Matlock - No. 28 Group. Many RAF staff affected by the strain of repeated raids on Germany recuperated there.

Rockside Hydropathic Establishment was built by Charles Rowland in 1862. It later became part of Matlock Teacher Training College and was subsequently developed into apartments.
