Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.
|
Description:
An oblong, mottled, white marble tablet with rebated borders and an incised inscription in upright capital roman lettering coloured black. When originally located in the church it was on a stone backboard and flanked by pilasters, with a wreath above. After removal to the Reading Room the tablet was accompanied by a small supplementary tablet recording details of the move.

History and Conservation
|
c1920s: The memorial was commissioned by Walter Wright and erected in the former Methodist Church.
c2010: The church closed and the memorial was subsequently removed.
October, 2011: The memorial was erected in the porch of the reading room.
19th September, 2017: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for. The inscriptions were transcribed by Annette Carter.
