Description:
A sandstone monument comprising a wheel cross on a rectangular battered pedestal and two-stepped base, mostly in a stippled and pitted finish. The cross is of the saxon or celtic style and the 6 o'clock face has a design of bosses, animals and intertwined snakes in relief. The rectangular battered pedestal has a two-stepped top and bears inscriptions on its faces, and the rectangular base is of two tall steps. The inscription is in uncial style lettering in cavo-relievo lines, originally on three of the finished dressed faces of the pedestal, but an additional inscription was added on the 12 o'clock face for WW2.
