Location details: Although Boulton-by-Derby is the historical name, it is today just known as Boulton, and although widely considered to be part of Alvaston it is an ecclesiastical parish in its own right. The church is on the north side of the road, the gravestone is towards the southwestern corner of the churchyard.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.
|
Description:
Lettering added to a stone on a family grave. The low, dark stone headstone has a shallow arch top and sprays of flowers incised in the top corners. The incised inscription is in upright capital roman lettering. The headstone originally surmounted an oblong base but the conjoined headstone and base have been laid back onto the surface of the ground.

History

| 5th September, 2012: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition; the headstone and base were intact and the inscription remained very clear. However, the conjoined headstone and base had been laid back onto the surface of the ground.
