Description:
Seven stained glass lancet windows accompanied by a limestone tablet.
It is assumed that each window originally contained clear class and that parts were replaced by stained glass areas which differ in size in each window as follows (from the left):
- A small area depicting the school's coat of arms.
- A multicoloured image of St Nicholas, covering about half of the window.
- A multicoloured image of St St George and the dragon, covering about half of the window.
- A multicoloured image of Jesus at the resurrection, covering about half of the window.
- A coloured image, mainly of blues, of St Michael of Airmen, covering about half of the window.
- A multicoloured image of King Alfred the Great, covering about half of the window.
- A small partially coloured image depicting a coat of arms of Francis Wright, founder of the school (inherited from Charles F M Wright).
The tablet is formed from an assembly of limestone tiles and bears, at the head, the gilded WW2 dates incised in upright capital roman lettering. Below that is a quotation and four columns of names, all incised in upright capital roman lettering coloured black.
