Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.

Description:

A white marble tablet on a black stone backboard. The oblong tablet has curvilinear sides with scrollwork in relief, a gilded incised inscription in upright gothic lettering at the head and names in three columns in gilded incised capital block lettering. It is surmounted by a moulded cornice and a plain pediment with a hollow latin cross at the centre, and has a plain cornice at the foot above two small brackets. The oblong backboard has a triangular arch top and bears the maker's name incised in upright capital block lettering at the foot.

History and Conservation

Unknown date: The memorial was made by White & Sons.

22nd October, 1962: The church was listed Grade I, Heritage List for England number 1204277.

Unknown date: The church lies within the Sawley Conservation Area.

28th August, 2017: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and the inscription was legible, although the gilding was a little faded.
