Description:
An oaken altar rail with central gates. The moulded and carved rail is supported on spaced pairs of columns, each linked by a moulded plinth. At the centre is a pair of hinged rails of similar design forming gates opening inwards towards the altar. The rail of the left gate bears a brass plaque with an incised inscription in upright capital block lettering coloured white.

History and Conservation

22nd October, 1962: The church was listed Grade I, Heritage List for England number 1204277.
Unknown date: The church lies within the Sawley Conservation Area.
28th August, 2017: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in good condition and the inscription was legible.
