Description:
An addition to a memorial stone on a family grave. The memorial comprises a recumbent white limestone tablet in the form of a scroll with an inscription inlaid in upright capital lettering. It is accompanied by a further oblong limestone tablet on the surface of the grave and oblong stone kerbs.

ALSO OF THEIR SON PTE. ERNEST, 2ND. 6TH. DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY, THE BELOVED HUSBAND OF ELSIE BEARDSLEY WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION NOV 5TH. 1918. AT ESQUELMES, FRANCE, AGED 29 YEARS THE SUPREME SACRIFICE.

History September 2008: The memorial was rediscovered by Mrs J Hunt of Friends of Stanton Road Cemetery whilst clearing undergrowth.
8th October 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Anne and Roy Branson. It was in fair condition.
