Description:

A brass plaque on a wooden frame. The rectangular brass plaque has a broad raised border containing leaves and berries in relief, the badge of the Sherwood Foresters at top left. and the inscription in raised upright capital lettering. The frame is of oak. The maker's name is incised at the bottom right corner of the plaque.

WHO FELL WHILE GALLANTLY LEADING HIS
MEN INTO ACTION AT GOMMÉCOURT, FRANCE,
JULY 1ST. 1916.
AGED 19 YEARS.
HE GAVE HIS HEART TO HIS HOME,
HIS LIFE FOR HIS KING AND COUNTRY,
AND HIS SOUL TO HIS GOD.
