Description:
A temporary well dressing tableau traditionally made from vegetation pressed into clay held in a wooden frame, but today often including pebbles, chippings, beads, fabric etc. The dressing comprised an upright oblong panel surmounted by a triangular pediment and depicted a multicoloured scene of a WW1 infantryman and mounted cavalry trooper with a war cemetery in the background and a drift of red poppies in the foreground.
The well dressing was displayed from 8th to 15th July 2018 and was subsequently dismantled.
