Location details: The church is on the south side of the road and the memorial is in the churchyard, just inside the main gates.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.
|
Description:
A sandstone monument comprising a tapered octagonal pillar supporting a rectangular carved lantern-head with a figure of Christ in relief within a recessed panel on the 6 o'clock face. The pillar surmounts a monolithic oblong pedestal with partially canted corners containing rounded decorative chamfers. the 6 o'clock face of this pedestal bears dates in relief within a shield with raised edges, and an inscription incised in upright capital roman lettering. This pedestal surmounts a further octagonal ashlar pedestal with niches on the four principal faces and names incised on some intermediate faces in upright capital roman lettering. The whole surmounts an octagonal ashlar base.

History
|
1920s: The memorial is presumed to have been erected in the early part of the decade.
Unknown date: An infill panel was fitted into part of one of the names.
1940s:The WW2 inscription is presumed to have been added in the latter part of the decade.
21st March, 2016: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition. Most of the monument had a light coating of lichen but this did not significantly impair the legibility of the inscriptions.
