Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.

Description:
A white granite monument comprising a finely dressed wheel cross with a tapered shaft surmounting a pedestal and plinth. The tall, steeply battered pedestal has a moulded and steeply bevelled top and bears the inscription and names inlaid on three faces in upright capital block lettering painted black. The plinth has a shallowly bevelled top and recessed front face. The plain oblong base and foundation are of concrete and are surrounded by a series of holes containing the remains of ceramic inserts which may have been vases. The memorial is sited at the rear of a paved and walled plot.

History 13th January, 2011: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition, the top corners of the pedestal were cracked and had been repaired.

Comments The site falls within the area generally known as Woodville although it is in the former parish of Swadlincote.
